Hello and welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Lara and I’m a 46-year-old Australian who has undergone Kshar Sutra (KS) for a complex Transsphincteric fistula.

If you’re reading this, it means you, or someone you know, may be suffering from a fistula and have heard about KS.

I’ve created this site as a means of providing you with as much information and resources as I can about the treatment, which in turn will allow you to make an informed decision for yourself.

Wishing you all healthy, happy butts!

Lara

Kshar Sutra is an ancient Ayurvedic technique only practiced in India. While the success rate of KS far exceeds that of allopathic treatments (97% success/3% recurrence), it is not used in Western medicine.

Many would not know of this treatment’s existence, and those who do may have valid hesitations and a plethora of questions. I’m hoping this site will help you find the answers.

There is an incredible support group on Facebook called – Kshar Sutra for Fistulas. I highly recommend joining the group as a way to connect with other patients (and me!) who have invaluable insight to share.

Throughout this site, I will be referring to the excellent Dr Ramesh Bhat who healed me. Honestly, he deserves to be honoured for all he has accomplished. His care and humanity made my treatment so much easier. What I witnessed in Bangalore is what led me here, wanting to help others experience that joyful fistula freedom.

I’m not here to insist others go to India but to share the wealth of knowledge I have after 8 months of living in Bangalore. I am not a medical professional and I am not gaining anything from sharing this information – I simply want to share my experience and raise awareness as others have before me.

All I ask is if you are even remotely curious that you remain impartial until researching the treatment. I myself had many hesitations, but thankfully I didn’t let preconceived notions stop me.

You’ve taken the first step by visiting this site, now the rest is up to you. Whichever path you choose, know there are many others out there to talk to for support.
